Ennio Morricone Live

The live performance of Ennio Morricone, the best film composer of all time, will be filled with whip crack, coyotes howl, and desperate men whistle low and long. This is something that must not be missed. This is a once in a lifetime event and is a premier in Australia. Better miss your life insurance premiums but go to this performance! This time, Morricone is not behind the scene anymore, he is going to lead the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at the Elder Park in Adelaide. The orchestra is made out of six Italian soloists and a massed choir. They will be playing some of his film scores. This performance will take you to a journey through the film scores of the multi-award winning maestro.

A Streetcar

Krzysztof Warlikowski is one of the best avant garde directors in Europe. Wajdi Mouawad on the other hand is one of the best theatre-makers in Canada. Both of them created a controversial 21st century twist to the much-loved American masterpiece of Tennessee William. The Result: a production that divided Paris. Isabelle Huppert made a haunting and brave performance at the famous Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe. This is a different and new kind of Streetcar that you have never witnessed before.

Gardenia

Six men will be on the stage in an intimate portrayal of identity and self revelation. Each of these men has his own story to tell. Some of the stories are funny, overwhelming and poignant. These men take a journey in the hinterland of different things. The personal drama of every character is told in a bold, but deeply tender medley of dance, theatre, cabaret and songs. The music Ravel, Dalida and Aznavour will be playing during the story. Gardenia is a Lauded company that brought Adelaide shows like Tristeza Complice and lets op Bach. The show is filled with poetry and elements of theatre.

The Caretaker

Caretaker is one of the early masterpieces of Harold Pinter. The debut of the play was already 50 years ago. The late Pinter endorsed the new Caretaker of the West End powerhouse Jonathan Pryce as a near flawless production. This is the Australian debut of Pryce after he conquered London with amazing reviews and sell-out performances. This production is made exclusively for Adelaide Festival with sponsorship from Life Insurance Australia. After the Adelaide Festival, it will go straight to San Francisco and New York. This is one of the most important plays of the century and it must not be missed.

Dreamers

Different iconoclasts, icons, innovators converge in Dreamers. This is one of the most amazing gatherings of musicians in the history of Adelaide Festival. This program was played for three weekends by the legends of this field. This play is filled with Latin, soft rock, psychedelia, French chanson, industrial and jazz.
